Hello Wisdo World!  This past week went by too quickly -- it's Tuesday again and I'm here for you to pick my brain for an hour.  Whatever the topic on your mind today regarding retirement lifestyle or finances, I'll let you know what I know...if anything!

Hi Steven. I turned 701/2 on January 3. I know I have to do something with my retirement account. Do I have choices?

Yes, but the law recently changed. According to the IRS website, " Due to changes made by the SECURE Act, if your 70th birthday is July 1, 2019 or later, you do not have to take withdrawals until you reach age 72." You can see it all at https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-participant-employee/retirement-topics-required-minimum-distributions-rmds

That's the one part of life I never learned -- using a sewing machine. My grandmother did teach me knitting, but I don't remember any of that!

I like the term Rewire, as I'm not going anywhere, but still wake up wondering what I want to explore that's new. Online learning is great! As are all the physical activities you shared!!

I'm not sure how this will show up here, but I came across an interesting photo today about How to Hack Our Happiness Chemicals: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c252XksL8CVKZA1GwurRBpT2Qyf1pgbv/view?usp=sharing

FYI, that third item under Dopamine Reward is "eat" food, not "cat" food! Had a double take on the first view!!

You're very welcome. Most of the banks and brokerage or investment custodians have systems which tell them the account holders that are subject to the Required Minimum Distribution Rules for that year, so I expect you'll hear from them. They may even contact you this year about not needing to take an RMD for 2021. Of course, they may also have shared that in their monthly statement inserts or newsletters, but when I was in the field, clients rarely looked at that stuff!

I love those happiness chemicals. Since zi think hugging is a self care activity, I’ll do it in her sunshine while I eat dark chocolate. SCORE!

I'm in an area of California where the hummingbirds come through on migration. I'm holding this hour's session from my patio while they come to the feeder and fight for territorial control!

It is. There's another feeder hanging in view of my kitchen window at the work counter & sink area. It has fewer fights, for some reason. Maybe because it's more hidden in the tree than the other, which is not as sheltered. It's amazing that I can be so close on the inside and though they see me, they still feed. Sometimes they will come over and give me a good look!

Here's a live feed of two hummer babies nearly full grown. It's a blast to watch them fledge! https://explore.org/livecams/hummingbirds/bella-hummingbird-nest

So cool! It's got sound, too! The feeding was rather interesting. I'm guessing that these will be ready to fly on their own in a week or so.

It's a bit quiet out there today. Anyone else have a question? Or perhaps a comment or suggestion to share from your experience? Again, no topic -- just a sharing day.
